how will i know?
i'm almost positive i've posted this Whitney video before
but it is worth another post, since i can't remember when i posted it before
i heard this song two times in passing yesterday, and i took it as a sign
aside from this being an amazing song & video, with outstanding choreography
i am especially keen on the amazing outfits on those female dancers
this video was made in 1985 and directed by Brian Grant
he also directed the notable video's:
Olivia Newton John's 'Physical' & Peter Gabriel 'Shock The Monkey'
this song was originally intended for Janet Jackson, but she passed on it
it won best female video at the 1986 MTV video awards

short-listed
I applied to the Summer Dance Makers Residency, Toronto,
to re-shoot this video I made in 2009
Two artists are selected to use studio space in the distillery district
for one week in the summer, and are given $500
to realize a project

I received word today that I have been short-listed,
which doesn't mean that I got in
It just means I was selected as a maybe from all the applications they received
And I'm quite proud!
update: I got it!!!

when i grow up
normally i don't like to post too many videos, especially one after the other,
you know, wanna keep it fresh
you know, wanna keep it fresh
(i'm currently listening to vintage Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince).
BUT today my love emily sent me this video. and it made my day.
i've always had a thing for choreographed everything. and its the first thing i ever remembering wanting to be when i grew up. from the days of hanging out on my trampoline, a lot, and making dances to ace of base. this video pretty much perfectly defines the kind of thing i want to make when i grow up. so inspirational.
