bath time

with the arrival of fall weather, i've been having daily bath time

today i thought about throwing some tea bags in to mix it up

after some research ive learned theres lots of households
you can throw in there to spruce it up and get extra soothed

8 green tea bags
draws toxins from pores, neutralizes a sunburn,
acts as astringent on oily skin + super soothing

1 cup apple cider vinegar
good for itcy skin + sore muscles + over-exposure to the sun

1/2 box jello
depending on the flavour, the scent can help to elevate your mood
(cherry + watermelon) + is a miracle for dry skin

2 cups oatmeal in a nylon
cures the worst skin irritation
+ acts as super moisturizer

nut oil (peanut, sesame, almond)
soak for 10 minutes, then add one tablespoon
softens skin + makes you taste & smell great

1 tablespoon ginger
raises the temperature of your skin
+ helps you to sweat out a cold

juice of 6 lemons
cools the skin + makes you feel all tingly

1/2 cup baking soda
eases muscle tension + good for itchy skin

cinnamon sticks
 eliminates toxins (after an illness)
+ elevates your mood

don't mix them all together...

spark-box

i've applied to a couple residencies recently, so i've had my eye out for them...
the ones i applied for are the type you don't have to pay for yourself,
because i can't finance that right now
but, i came across this beauty...
a beautiful space in the country near kingston, ontario

and it got me dreaming of one day owning a farm house in the country
and starting my own space like this...
where people come and pay to stay and do a residency
where they can take time to realize some art work, or writing, or music

like having your own bed and breakfast, but better!

addicted

i've been knitting up a storm...christmas is coming!
...and many pre-chistmas birthdays.
here's mom's b-day socks, finished today:

lots of people ooh and ahh when they see me knitting socks, and they seem so impressed...but i know for a fact it is easier than it looks.  with a little effort and patience, you could teach yourself to do it too! i found a comprehensive website which has taught me most things i know about knitting: silvers sock class
there are easy instructions with great pictures to help you all along the way
i have used this very pattern (with a few personal modifications)
to knit over 50 pairs of socks over the past three years!
