i hate goodbyes...who doesn't?
im the friend who would rather 'ghost-out' at a party than say goodbye
and i work myself up in anticipation of big sad goodbyes that can't be avoided

september had me dwelling on big sad goodbyes

i said goodbye to a life-long best friend, who is from melbourne

she was based out of montréal for some time this year

and i was lucky to see her three times during

i truly don't know when and where we will meet again

but in my heart i know that we will

she is really something special

i said hello to my loves in port stanley this past week
who i see about once a season

each visit always feels too short...but acts as a turbo boost of love
 each goodbye we have has me dreaming of moving in next door to them







i said goodbye to my bestfriend/life-love/roommate

...until december he's touring the continent

this change is especially hard...

but instead of dwelling on the big sad goodbye 
i anticipate the big happy hello...its one of the best feelings in the world

i think a lot about the value of cherishing one person for most of your life

and the development of the meaning of the word love

yesterday i discovered a current guest series on lasting love by 'happiness is'

she is on the brink of getting married, and has asked some friends to share 

some words, thoughts, and advice on the theme of lasting love

so far my favorite's were written by randi & lia & rachel

mod pieces

if you didn't already know, i love lighting vessels, and lighting...

some of these 'mod pieces' lamps have me drooling

i love that these two are twins, but they aren't identical

 

two years

 

it was our birthday on monday, but it was also a tragic day

we both took the day off of work and went to the park

we ate hot dogs and cheesy snacks, we saw a swan, 

and walked under the romantic trees

but on our way home i got a bit too confident on my bike 

and took a major spill in a major way

(proud to say i was wearing a helmet)

poor karl witnessed it all right in front of him, 

and took care of me like a mama bird

he even played eye-spy with me in the emergency waiting room

and somehow managed me make be feel beautiful in a time when 

i was feeling and looking genuinely hideous (i smashed my face)

it's interesting how sometimes terrible things like this can 

act as an important reminder of how much someone really loves you

i can't imagine how it would feel to have to see

something as awful as this happen to him

karl is an exotic bird

i am the luckiest he is my best friend

 

gLOVEs

today is love-day, and the most appropriate occasion to disperse 

a mass quantity of lost gloves & mittens back to the streets;

but this time, with a partner. 

today several pairs of mis-matched gLOVEs 

were distributed to the streets of Toronto in these locations:

most of these single gloves were collected from the streets of 

Guelph, Ontario over the past few winter seasons

they have been matched with a new life partner, 

giving them a new life-purpose

birthday girls

two very special friends of mine share the same birthday

 today my niece emry is four. 

the day she way born i remember hearing lots of cicada bugs buzzing in the trees. i went for a run on the dirt road by my parents house and was chased by dogs.  i ate a green apple from an orchard.

when i met her i cried.

today one of my besties, saffron, is thirty...lucky duck is in montréal with her sister léanne, celebrating with champagne. i can't wait for her return this weekend so i can celebrate with champagne. i made a special trip to get her a pile of macarons for her birthday cake. imported from france.
